My name is Kate MacLellan, I am the owner, instructor and professional rider for Bay Ridge Farm. I started riding at the age of three years old and never looked back. My parents allowed me to start homeschooling at the end of 3rd grade to be able to pursue horses and training opportunities without the restriction of an in person school schedule. I started finding and buying horses and ponies to start over fences and sell at the age of 13 and have sold horses coast to coast, including Alaska! My 3’ children hunter is now one of my main lesson horses, affectionally known as Finnegan. With the help of one of the many trainers I’ve learned from, we found him on facebook hardly halter broke and went on to win several hunter divisions and derbies.

At the age of 16, I was a working student for a year and a half which allowed me to gain a lot of great knowledge, get to travel to horse shows, and catch ride horses which was an invaluable experience.

I started teaching lessons in 2020 and enjoy being able to share my knowledge with others; working towards accomplishing their goals, whether it just be developing a good relationship with them around the farm or packing up and heading to a horse show!
